By using Voice of Bharath you agree to these terms. They are written to be read, not to be impressive.

What this site is

A place to report local problems, suggest improvements, and see what others have reported. Reports are read by a moderator before they appear.

What this site is not

It is not an emergency service. If somebody is in danger, call the emergency services. Nothing reported here reaches the police, an ambulance or a fire service.

Published reports are sent on. Once a month a summary of the problems still unresolved in an area is emailed to the offices that cover it — the District Commissioner, the Tahsildar, and the MLA or MP where their constituency has been set up. That summary carries the problem, where it is and when it was reported.

Sending is not the same as acting. This platform has no authority over any office and cannot compel anyone to do anything. An office may act, may reply, may confirm receipt, or may do nothing at all, and none of that is within our control. Nothing here should be read as a promise that a reported problem will be fixed.

What you may post

Report what you have seen. Describe the problem, not a person.

Do not post: anyone's name, phone number, address or photograph without their agreement; accusations against a named individual; anything untrue; abuse or threats; anything unlawful; advertising; or the same report over and over.

Who owns what you write

You keep what you wrote. By posting it you allow Voice of Bharath to publish it on the site and to include it in counts and summaries. You confirm that what you post is yours to post and that any photograph is one you took.

Moderation

Every report is read before it appears. A report may be refused, and you will be told why. A published report may be taken down later if a problem with it comes to light.

Volunteers

A volunteer writes under their own name. Accounts may be suspended where these terms are broken, and a suspended account loses its badge and its public page at once.

What we cannot promise

Reports are written by members of the public and are not verified as fact before publication. Anyone acting on what they read here does so on their own judgement.

The site is provided as it stands. It may be unavailable at times.
