How moderation works

Every report is read by a person before anyone else sees it. This page explains what they are deciding.

What gets published

A report is published when it describes a real local problem or a workable idea, gives enough detail to be understood, names a place, and puts no one at risk.

What gets refused

Anything naming or picturing a person who has not agreed to it. Accusations against a named individual. Abuse or threats. Advertising. Duplicates of a report already on the board. Reports too vague to act on.

When a report is refused, the reason is recorded and shown to whoever filed it when they check their reference. It is not published.

Who moderates

Moderators are accounts created by the site's owner, each with only the permissions they need. Every approval and refusal records who made it and when.

Political neutrality

The same rules apply to every report, whoever it concerns and whoever filed it. No report is promoted or buried for political reasons, and the platform does not campaign for any party or candidate.

If you disagree with a decision

Write to support@voiceofbharath.com with the reference. A different moderator will look again.

Taking something down

If something published here concerns you personally — your name, your photograph, your home — write to support@voiceofbharath.com and it will be taken down while it is looked at, not afterwards.
